SALVATION gives –EMANCIPATION and everlasting-FREEDOM
1st John 3:1- Behold, what manner of love the Father hath bestowed upon us, that we should be called the sons of God: therefore, the world knoweth us not, because it knew Him not.
Romans 8:1 -“There is therefore now no condemnation to them which are in Christ Jesus, who walk not after the flesh, but after the Spirit.”
Ephesians 2:8 - For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God.
Humans were created to worship God but we made a choice to disobey Him. Our disobedience to God has placed us into slavery. When we are enslaved by sin, Satan becomes our master. Thanks be to God for His grace of salvation which we receive through Jesus Christ our Redeemer. God not only offers us salvation; He provides for our daily needs.
Life is filled with numerous problems which comes in many forms. One ever present challenge is your day-to-day survival as you try to make two ends meet. Every day the cost of living keeps increasing and this may cause you to be unable to satisfy your daily material needs as you desire. As you reflect on this problem you may feel a sense of hopelessness and frustration. However, be reminded that regardless of how you feel there is hope ahead. Do not become so despondent that you would prefer to end your life in an untimely manner.
How are you feeling now? Are you really happy and contented or are you tangled in a web of despair as you struggle to make ends meet? Do you feel as if you are alone and no one cares for you? Do you feel like a failure? How do you feel about the future? Are you feeling secure knowing that spiritually, physically and materially you are ready to enter the future or are you just going along unaware or in fear of what the future holds?
Jesus told you that you should not be overly concerned about your daily needs because worrying will not supply your needs. He said that God will supply all your needs therefore you should trust Him. Jesus said that instead of worrying about material and physical things you should first seek after the Kingdom of God and then God will supply your needs according to His desire for your life. (Matthew 6: 25-34)
Before sin entered Adam and Eve never experienced worry, because God supplied everything for them. They began to worry after they disobeyed God and the real problem started when God drove them from the Garden.
God gave us Ten Commandments which we ought to obey. They are our guideposts to righteousness. 1st John 3:4 tells us, “whosoever committeth sin transgresseth also the Law; for sin is the transgression of the Law.” It is the Ten Commandments which expose our sins and our conscience convicts us that we are not walking in unity with God.
Hebrew 9:27 tells us that it is appointed unto men once to die but after this comes the judgement.
Death is the most important appointment which everyone will ever keep. Thus, it is important that while we prepare for our important day to day activities and responsibilities we prepare for our final departure.
Death is so very final. Why do people die? This is a question that has been a troubling question throughout the ages. This is because it is humans’ desire to live forever. Most persons do not want to die although life in general is so unpredictable.
God created the universe by His might and excellence. He used six days to work and He rested and fellowshipped on the seventh day which is called the Sabbath. On the sixth day of Creation, God created man to enjoy this earth and all its beauty.
The earth and the humans were pure; there was no sin. However, this changed when Lucifer contended with God and was driven out of Heaven. He came to the earth with bitterness in his heart and the determination to spoil the friendship which humans had with God.
He succeeded when he got Eve to believe his lie and both Adam and Eve sinned against God. They were told by God that they could eat from the tree of life but were not to eat from the tree of knowledge of good and evil. They ate the fruit which God had told them not to eat. Many believe that this fruit was sexual but it is not.
The Bible teaches us that the first task God gave to man was to procreate. Genesis 2:27, And God blessed them and God said unto them, “Be fruitful and multiply and replenish the earth…...” Thus, it is that we understand that God had given Adam and Eve the command to engage in sexual intercourse.
When sin entered this earth, everything changed.
Romans 3:23, “For all have sinned and come short of the glory of God.” Death became the reward for sin. Romans 6:23, “For the wages of sin is death but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord.” Sin takes away our freedom and places us in bondage. Sin separates us from God.
Can we regain our relationship with God? Yes, we can. Jesus is our Freedom Fighter and Emancipator. He left His Heavenly throne and came to this earth where He was born as a babe and lived as a Servant of God. His mission was to redeem us back to God. Only He could complete such an awesome task. Alleluia!!! Praises be to His name. Acts 4:12 tells us, “Neither is there salvation in any other: for there is none other name under heaven given among men, whereby we must be saved.”
John the Baptist was the forerunner for Jesus. He came to make persons aware that Jesus was coming as a Saviour to offer hope to the hopeless. Therefore, when he saw Jesus he proclaimed, Behold the Lamb of God which taketh away the sin of the world.” (John 1:29)
Before Christ came to die for us. Animals were sacrificed and their blood was offered as an atonement for sins. Just as we now pray daily to the Lord so would sacrifices be offered daily in the Temple. People would take their sacrifices so the Priests were very busy.
Offering daily sacrifices for sin was a very tedious task so God had to set aside the tribe of Levi to minister in His Temple and to follow His instructions and http://www.pillarandgroundofthetruth.online/execute the different Laws of the Ordinances.
Once annually there is a National Day of Sacrifice. This day is the Day of Atonement. On this day the High Priest in Israel would offer sacrifice to atone for the sins of the people.
The blood of animals, the different offerings and ordinances were insufficient to suffice for the sins of mankind. A much better sacrifice was needed. Hebrews 9:28 tells us “So Christ was once offered to bear the sins of many and unto them that look for Him shall He appear the second time without sin unto salvation.”
Yes, while under the Old Covenant the Priests had to offer sacrifice daily; it is not so under the New Covenant. Jesus only died once and His offering is still valid today. Thus, it is, that when Jesus died on the cross the Old Blood Covenant was broken and we are now enjoying a New Covenant.
Have you accepted Christ as your Lord and Saviour? Are you enjoying the freedom which He gives? If you have not accepted God’s plan of salvation you have not yet begun to live.
Why is salvation necessary for us? Sins makes salvation necessary. The word salvation has its root in the word salvage. When you accept Christ as your personal Saviour He will reclaim your life from the clutches of the Devil. He is the only One with the power and authority to dispel every dark cloud and to renew your life.
Sin destroys and often causes what seems to be irreparable damages. It destroys lives and relationships. As you travel along the roadways you will observe many wrecked vehicles; some are so badly damaged that all you can see is twisted metal. This is how lives wrecked by sin will seem.
While humans are unable to repair the remains of a wrecked vehicle God is able to repair anything no matter how damaged.
Come to Christ and experience real love, freedom and friendship. Escape the bondage of sin. Let Him remodel your life.
Only Christ can emancipate us from the slavery of sin.
